AFRICAN AMERICAN EMPLOYEE OF YALE UNIVERSITY

On the back, in pencil: "1880" and "Yale." I have had other copies of this same photo, so I know that the Yale attribution is correct and that it’s from an 1880 class album. Often, besides depicting faculty and then students, there are photographs of vendors and favorite employees of the university. On front, at the bottom of the mount: "PACH BRO'S. 841 B'WAY, N.Y."
