INSPECTOR & YALE PATENTS

The only text we find is on the wheels in front: "YALE 30 2000 PAT PEND KC 182." One can never know why this photograph was taken. If it was taken by an art photographer, it’s likely that it have been signed. It’s unlikely it was to document the inspector. Was it meant to be displayed in a lobby? Or as part of an advertising campaign? Whatever the reason, the photographer had a masterful sense of composition. All angles point to the inspector who is immersed in work and seemingly oblivious to our gaze.

Mounted on cardboard. No attribution.
