Outdoor scene daguerreotypes are not generally hand-colored, so when we find one, we realize it's a treasure. The five first floor windows are all hand-colored a blue-green to great effect. The construction of the building with two doors and the cupola, as well as a widow's walk at the very top, is all fascinating.

The solitary man in a top hat, standing with his leg raised as in triumph, makes his presence known.

SIZE. Sixth plate.

HOUSING. Attractive convex case with a very good new spine.

CONDITION. Resealed (not by us) in 2008. Heavy tarnish. Very good condition.

APPEARANCE. Wonderful composition. The hand-coloring is a big plus.
