The soldier sits upright with hands clasped, legs crossed, and one elbow on the table. He has a laid-back demeanor. There's a medal tucked into his jacket. His gold buttons are bright. Note his kepi on the table and the burgundy tablecloth.

HOUSING. This is case #112, 'Crossed Cannons and the Liberty Cap,' in Union Cases, by Krainik, Krainik, and Walvoord. The book lists it as Available. This is case #1-54, 'Crossed Cannons,' in Nineteenth Century Photographic Cases and Wall Frames, by Paul Berg. The book lists it as Scarce. Note the patriotic mat. No nicks. Clasp works. Case is in very good condition.
CONDITION. We have not taken this apart, but the tintype looks to be in very good condition.
APPEARANCE. Nice use of color. Great relaxed pose.
