KODAK NO. 1. "The Kodak No 1 was Kodak's second camera, the first simply called 'Kodak'. The No 1 was produced from 1889 to 1895 and differs slightly from the original, featuring an easily removable lens board, and an improved sector shutter. The shutter was set by pulling a string and tripped by pressing a button on the side. After exposure, the film was wound to the next frame using a key. The film used in this camera was Kodak's famed first roll film. Initially made from paper, then celluloid, this film was revolutionary as it could take successive photographs, removing the need to constantly reload a camera. Kodak's first cameras came fully loaded with enough film to take 100 pictures." (source: The Science Museum Group website)
