Through the prism of today's vantage point, it looks to us that the customers are surly and in control of the proceedings rather than the other way around. Much could be written about the body language exhibited in this poignant tintype. It's an important document.

SIZE. Tintype: Approximately 3 1/4 x 2 1/16 inches. Paper sleeve: 3 7/8 x 2 7/16 inches.

CONDITION. Tintype: Several bends. Some scuffing at upper left. There is paper residue from the paper sleeve, resulting in a pattern of light-colored marks along the periphery at right - this is hidden underneath the sleeve and only visible if the tintype is taken out. Paper sleeve: Unevenly trimmed. Soiling and foxing.

APPEARANCE. Excellent contrast. An abundance of content.
