Please note that these tintypes are right-reading. Often, tintypes are laterally reversed.

1) One young lady stands and the other sits. They hold hands. Note the glove on the standing woman's hand. Both wear tags that say "T.F.T." We've looked far and wide for what this acronym could mean. Is it women's suffrage? Early Union? Fraternal? Religious? Social? We don't know, but it's clearly significant to these two women.

Size: Approximately 3 9/16 x 2 1/2 inches. Condition: No bends. When tilted, a diagonal scuff from the shoulder of the woman at left to below the bare hand. Otherwise, minimal surface wear. Very good condition.

2) The same young women have changed places. The standing woman's hand is on the seated woman's shoulder. The top tag is faint, but we can still read "T.F.T." The other tag is not readable.

Size: Approximately 3 1/4 x 2 7/16 inches. Condition: Tiny horizontal bend at 3:00. A small wipe at 4:00. Rust spots on the tag of the woman sitting. White border at the right edge was in the production.

APPEARANCE. Excellent contrast on each. These project very well.
