The soldier musician holds his large Bb slide trombone aloft for us to see. It's magnificent!
His uniform is a rich blue, and his shoulder boards are gold gilded, as are his buttons.
There's a badge on his chest that's partially obscured. His shako (hat) with plume sits on the table. The tablecloth has been tinted.
SIZE. Sixth plate.
HOUSING. Thermoplastic Union case in very good condition. The clasp works.
CONDITION. Old glass replaced with hand-cut, high-quality borosilicate glass by Derek French. Resealed. Some very slight wipes. Mat abrasions, but the only one of note is at top right.
APPEARANCE. Great pose, great use of space. Wonderful coloring. Stunning!
