SIZE. Whole plate is synonymous with full plate. When it comes to daguerreotypes and ambrotypes, the measurement for whole plate is very exact: 8 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches. However, there's some leeway with tintypes. This one measures approximately 8 7/16 x 6 5/8 inches.

CONDITION. No bends. Scratches, especially on her forehead and in the white oval background. Mottling around her neck.

APPEARANCE. Sharp and bright. Excellent contrast. The pink is wonderful! A striking portrait.
