The boy works hard to contain the dog while keeping his own composure. One arm holds the dog's head in place, while the other hand is planted on the dog's back end.

The work paid off, as we now have this wonderful portrait of the two of them.

CONDITION. Modern seals (not by us). Heavy tarnish at perimeter. Light horizontal streak at left side. Rust colored spot on the dog, near the bottom.

APPEARANCE. Very good contrast. Great pose. An endearing image.
