I purchased this cabinet card photograph 25 years ago and have never offered it anywhere.

Here is a portrait of a full standing woman in a form-fitted dress. Handwriting on the front of the mount identifies her as "Rachel." The visuals are a seamless mix of real and faux. Rachel has one hand on a piece of bentwood (which was fashionable at that time) and the other arm behind her back. She looks regal.

DATE. Circa 1880s.

PHOTOGRAPHER. At the bottom of the mount: "J. W. Sellar's Gallery, BELLAIRE, O." Backmark: "J. W. SELLARS Photo Gallery, BELLAIRE, O."

SIZE. Approximately 6 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches.

CONDITION. Photo: Tiny black spot on her cheek, left side. A few other spots and marks. Mount: Heavy wear at corners. Soiling and foxing on front and back.

APPEARANCE. Nice lighting. Very good tones. Lots of wonderful layers, textures, and details.
