Handwritten on the back: "Turkish Lady." She wears a small fez and striped dress. She holds a very long pipe. There's a vase filled with flowers next to her. Note the craftsmanship of the furniture, as well as the design of the carpet or floor. "80" at lower left corner of the photo.

It's not often that we come across pink mounts.

PHOTOGRAPHER. On front, at bottom of mount: "B. KARGOPOULO CONSTANTINOPLE." Backmark: "Basile Kargopoulo CONSTANTINOPLE Grande Rue du Pera, No. 447. pres le PALAIS de RUSSIE."

SIZE. Approximately 3 7/8 x 2 1/2 inches.

CONDITION. Photo: Spots and small marks. Mount: Trimmed. Light wear at corners. Front has very light soiling at left. Back has a couple of tiny spots.

APPEARANCE. Very good tones. Excellent details.
